Instead of the cookie-cutter red carpet frocks (possibly form-fitting, possibly with a slit, possibly strapless) that are customary at many awards shows, celebs stepped out onto the Nickelodean’s 2011 Kids Choice Awards orange carpet in ensembles that gave us a glimpse into their personal styles and their unique psyches. BECAUSE even though they were all born in '92/'93 (great years, by the way), there’s a BIG difference between Selena Gomez, Taylor Momsen, and Miley Cyrus. And it all starts with their clothes...followed behind their contrasting photo poses. So, the question is whose closet could you hang out in for an hour or two?
Miley Cyrus
Miley (who took home the award for Favorite Movie Actress) wore a floral maxi gown by Dolce & Gabbana. At first glance we get girly—all-out feminine, flirty, and romantic. It's exactly what her tween/teen fans (and their moms) would want to see her in. But, upon closer inspection, we see Miley's edge in the form of a long layered silver chain. And, is that a four-finger knuckle ring on her right hand? Yes. Yes it is.

But, this was the KIDS Choice Awards, so goth girl better have covered up her goodies. Okay, we're off our soapbox. Slacks aside, Taylor kept her badassssss demeanor intact by donning leather, sky-high platforms, smudged liner, hip-length extensions, a chocker, and a scowl.

What this look says to us about this awards show reg: "Sure, I have a closet full of cute cocktail dresses and floor-skimming gowns, but sometimes I just want to wear shorts and a tank top, DANG IT." We can relate. Kinda.
