Two weeks before the start of the festival, the second concert, that of the Swedish rock band Mando Diao, is sold out. No more tickets can thereby be obtained for the Marquee stage for the weekend. In the fourth edition of Zermatt Unplugged, the organiser, Tom Talent Entertainment, is aiming for a complete sell-out of all concerts, after selling 83% of all concert tickets last year.

Zermatt Unplugged is pursuing ambitious goals. 'We will be in the black from 2012', explained Festival President Thomas Sterchi in an interview with the Walliser Bote. For the first time, Sterchi also publicly revealed last year's deficit for the still young and emerging event: CHF 900,000. With this year's fourth edition of Zermatt Unplugged, the organiser wants to reduce this deficit by around CHF 600,000, to CHF 300,000 CHF. 'We expect at least 15,000 festival visitors this year, not the least due to the attractive supporting programme of the New Talent Stages: 35 free concerts with emerging talents', explained Festival President Thomas Sterchi.

An important source of income is the sale of tickets, which has exceeded all expectations this year. Zermatt Unplugged was able to start the advance sales of 7 of the 10 major concerts at the beginning of December, and the sell-out of the OneRepublic concert was already announced at the beginning of March. Two weeks before the start of the festival, this has now been followed by the Mando Diao concert, and Seal is not far behind. There are only around 300 concert tickets still available.
